For The Informed Shopper
The upcoming Season in West Palm Beach for the informed shopper looks better than ever. On a quick survey in cooler weather recently, I was again impressed by the truly unique selection of goods and services offered by our growing number of individual and independent stores and businesses. We have a definite synergy here in West Palm Beach in the design and home furnishings market as the city continues to grow. The selection has grown over the summer. To recap the geography of what is involved in my newsletter:
Antique Row including “The Villas on Antique Row” stretches north on S. Dixie Highway from Southern Boulevard to Belvedere.
SOSO Design District encompasses Southern Boulevard to the spillway into Lake Worth and from S. Dixie Highway to Georgia Avenue.
The Warehouse District at present is focused primarily on Elizabeth Avenue adjacent to Flamingo Park and Grandview Heights.
Recent updates for the Warehouse District include news that Christina Coniglio will soon open her Design Studio there. Show Pony Palm Beach has opened an additional store adjacent to their Garden Shop called Love Bandit to display mid-century modern items. In the same vein on Georgia Avenue, Authentic Provence has opened a new shop called AP Mid-Century to showcase mid-century furniture and accessories. Mid-century is the new, new thing! Georgia Avenue in general has an updated look with many new shops, galleries and studios along with its established workshops. The anticipated project, The Warehouse, seems to be running behind schedule for a November opening. Three art galleries will open on Antique Row. Two of the storefronts will be Kofski’s and the third, as yet, is unnamed.
So, for the informed shopper, the possibilities for the Season look exciting and unlimited.
